If you're a fan of comebacks, buzzer-beaters, and raw, gritty basketball — TSI Prime 2028 just gave you a weekend to remember.
This past weekend at the Bracket Sportz Yellow Banks Shootout in Owensboro, Kentucky, the TSI Prime 9th Grade Boys weren’t just playing ball — they were making a statement. From the opening tip on Saturday to the final buzzer on Sunday, Prime showed what happens when talent starts to click, teammates trust each other, and no one’s afraid of the moment.
💪 SATURDAY: SETTING THE TONE
Prime wasted no time making noise. Game 1? Absolute domination — a 53-31 win over We Different Select.
Landon Werner (South Ripley): 13 pts
Bennett Pearcy (Scottsburg): 11 pts, 3 assists
Ty Hilton (Crothersville) & Gage Petty (Lanesville): 4 boards each
Game 2 was an even bigger blowout: 69-17 over KSE Red. Yeah, you read that right.
Werner again showed out: 18 pts, 7 rebounds
Pearcy: 11 pts, 5 assists
Carter Jones (Crothersville): 5 assists
The chemistry was building. The swag was rising.
🔥 SUNDAY: FROM DOGFIGHTS TO DOUBLE OT DRAMA
Quarterfinals? Prime handled business. 60-38 over Bab Elite Nance.
Dylan Toppe (Brownstown): 16 pts
Jones: 13 pts, 5 rebounds
Werner: 9 rebounds
Teamwork: multiple players sharing the ball with 2 assists apiece
But then came the game. The one that’ll be talked about for years. Semifinal vs Indiana Finest. Final Score: 55-53 in Double OT. Let’s set the stage:
Down 45-35 with 4 minutes to go. Most teams fold. Prime? They fought back.
13-3 run to force OT
Landon Werner went nuclear: 25 pts, 7-of-8 from deep
Ross Bevers (Trinity Lutheran): 15 clutch pts, including THREE 3s late
Tie game. Clock ticking.
DOUBLE OVERTIME.
Bevers banks in the game-winner as the buzzer sounds.
The bench erupts. The court gets stormed. Legends are made.
🏆 TITLE GAME: HEART, HUSTLE… AND EXHAUSTION
By the time the championship game tipped off — their 3rd game of the day — Prime was running on fumes. They gave everything they had but fell 74-59 to KSE Owensboro.
Carter Jones went absolutely OFF: 26 pts, including 4-for-4 from three in the first half
Bevers grabbed 8 boards
Pearcy dished out 5 assists
Even in the loss, they never backed down. The effort was elite. The grit was real.
🎯 What’s Next?
This squad isn’t done. Not even close. Catch them May 17-18 at the USAYH Spring Classic in Noblesville, IN — and expect a team that's hungrier, tougher, and ready to take the next step.
