TSI has Weekend of Champions

ree

Culture. Commitment. Championships.

It’s becoming a tradition at Team Southern Indiana—another weekend, another round of CHAMPIONSHIPS! The weekend of July 12th–13th was yet another banner moment for the TSI family, as four of our teams brought home titles from across Indiana. From the incredible players to the committed coaches and supportive parents, TSI culture once again delivered excellence on and off the court.

👑 TSI High School Girls – MYT Summer Slam Champs Record: 4-0

The TSI Girls dominated the MYT Summer Slam in Louisville. The Nussbaum sisters (Mikayla & Savannah Nussbaum, both freshmen from Southwestern Hanover) led a fearsome backcourt that delivered all weekend.

  • Game 1 vs Marlin Academy: 64-38 win. Mikayla had 15 pts & 6 ast (4-of-6 from 3), Savannah nearly triple-doubled with 14 pts, 9 reb, 9 stl, 5 ast.

  • Game 2 vs Carson Fundamentals: 51-15 win. Mikayla dropped 12, Savannah added 11 pts, 8 reb, 6 stl.

  • Semifinal: Another blowout win over Carson, 71-24. Savannah (20 pts), Mikayla (19 pts).

  • Championship vs Marlin Academy: A 67-36 blowout. Mikayla & Tiarra Lewis "Clarksville" both scored 19, and Addison Petro "Jennings County" dominated the glass with 10 rebounds.

This team is peaking at the right time and now turns their focus to the Reebok World Championships (7/18–7/21).

🔥 TSI Select 9th grade Boys – Champs at the Superstar Events July Jam

Record: 5-0 Summer Record 28-3

The Select boys rolled into Noblesville and left with hardware! They opened pool play by steamrolling IBC-Collins 79-30. The scoring trio of Eli Gilpin "South Ripley" (22 pts), Caiden Boswell "Scottsburg" (18 pts), and Ethan Larrimore 'Salem" (10 pts) led the charge, with PG Ethan Noble "Floyd Central" running the show with 6 assists and just 2 turnovers.

In Game 2, Select handled Indy Premier 64-30, behind Boswell’s 17 and Gilpin’s 10. On Championship Sunday, they dominated Indy Jazz 63-31, with Gilpin dropping 20 points & 6 rebounds, Andrew Nussbaum "Southwestern" Hanover (11 pts), Lucas Hobbs "South Central" Elizabeth (10 pts) stepping up.

In the semifinals, they faced Grand Park Premier 2028—featuring former TSI standout Nolin Pearce "Lanesville". After a cold shooting first half (down 22-20), Select caught fire, outscoring their opponent 40-25 in the second half for a 60-47 win. Gilpin led with 20 points, Noble stuffed the stat sheet (11 pts, 6 ast, 6 reb), while Boswell and Nussbaum hit clutch shots down the stretch.

The title game featured a Southern Indiana showdown: TSI Select vs ERA Elite 2028. Final Score: TSI 53 ERA Elite 38. Without JP Siltz 'Henryville" and ERA missing Wyatt Jones "Borden", the battle was still electric. Former TSI guards Tracen Rausch "Austin" & Kyron Johnson "New Albany" were in action for ERA Elite 2028, as both are tremendous guards, but Select’s length and shot-making proved too much in a battle of the two Southern Indiana 15U heavy weights. A true team win sealed another championship for Select! This group was amazing last summer and appear to be even better this year.

Once again, TSI proves that culture beats talent when talent doesn’t work together—but when culture and talent combine, championships follow. Our kids are coachable, competitive, and committed. From our youngest ballers to our high school stars, everyone is chasing greatness, and everyone is doing it the right way.
