TSI Select 7th Grade Boys Make a Statement at MYT War on The Floor

The TSI Select 7th grade boys put on a show last weekend at the MYT War on The Floor—and what a weekend it was!

With MYT events becoming more competitive than ever and team participation on the rise, Director Mitchell Speedy and his crew are clearly doing something right. Their hard work with Midwest Youth Tournaments is paying off, and programs across the region are taking notice.

The Select squad battled through a tough 15-team field and came away with an impressive Runner-up finish, going 4-2 overall.

Saturday – Pool Play:The boys started strong with a dominant 61-31 win over HDB Wolfpack. They followed it up with a hard-fought game against Apex Flight, falling 61-36 in a physical battle that set the tone for a possible rematch.

Sunday – Bracket Play:Fueled by Saturday’s lessons, Select came out sharp.

• First, they cruised past SI Braves, 55-22.

• Then they edged out Valley Elite Black in a nail-biter, 50-44.

• In the semifinals, they powered through Indiana Blue Demons, 64-52.

Championship Game – Rematch Time:It all came down to another clash with Apex Flight. This time, Select was locked in from the jump. They battled wire-to-wire, creating opportunities and pushing the pace, but ultimately came up just short in a tight 52-47 final.

This group showed resilience, growth, and heart—and they’re not done yet! The Select 7th grade boys are back in action this weekend at the MYT National Club Challenge, and they’re hungry for more.
