TSI Select 16U Boys opened the Adidas 3SGB Circuit in dominant fashion this weekend, going a perfect 4-0 in Detroit, Michigan and improving to 12-0 on the season.
This group continues to show they are not just talented—but connected. Their selfless style of play, willingness to share the ball, and ability to compete together continues to draw praise from referees and opposing coaches alike. This group is the most connected that I've seen.
Game 1: TSI Select 66, D1 Jets 50 (Chicago, IL)
Select was tested right away against a physical D1 Jets squad, who jumped out to a 10-2 early lead in a game where the officials let both teams play.
Select responded with toughness and composure, closing the half on a 12-2 run to take a 34-23 lead into halftime. The Jets made a late push in the second half, cutting the lead to six, but Select stayed poised and pulled away late.
Stat Leaders:
Eli Gilpin: 16 points & 10 rebounds
Caiden Boswell: 13 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists
Ethan Noble: 11 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds
Lucas Hobbs: 11 points
Ethan Larrimore: 5 rebounds
Game 2: TSI Select 64, All Area Indiana 44
(Hype Athletic Center – Detroit, MI)
In the second game Saturday morning, Select took on a familiar in-state opponent in All Area Indiana. The game was competitive early, but Select’s length, pressure, and shot-making took over as they pulled away for a convincing win.
Stat Leaders:
Eli Gilpin: 17 points
Ethan Noble: 11 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds
Caiden Boswell: 11 points, 5 rebounds
Andrew Nussbaum: 8 points, 4 steals
Hudson Smith: 7 pts, 5 rebounds
Game 3: TSI Select 73, Stick to the Script Academy 66 (Houston, TX)
The marquee matchup of the weekend lived up to the hype, as Select faced an undefeated Stick to the Script Academy team loaded with highflyers and elite shooters.
Script controlled much of the first half, but Select flipped the game in the second half with defense and discipline. Down the stretch, Select executed at a high level to secure a big-time win.
Stat Leaders:
Caiden Boswell: 19 points, 13 rebounds
Eli Gilpin: 17 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds
Ethan Noble: 11 points, 8 reb, 5 assists
Lucas Hobbs: 7 points
Hudson Smith: 6 rebounds
Game 4: TSI Select 73, Southern Players Club 59 (Dallas, TX)
Sunday’s 8:00 AM tip presented a different kind of challenge. Facing a hungry Southern Players Club team looking to leave Detroit with a win, Select found themselves down 12 points late in the first half.
Instead of folding, this group responded the way they always do—together.
Select battled back, took control in the second half, and pulled away late to finish the weekend undefeated.
Stat Leaders:
Eli Gilpin: 21 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds
Ethan Noble: 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists
Andrew Nussbaum: 8 points
Hudson Smith: 7 points, 7 rebounds
The Difference: Connection
After eight years of playing together, this team has something you simply can’t replicate—true chemistry.
They trust each other. They compete for each other. And they play the game the right way.
There is no doubt—this is one of the most connected, complete teams TSI has ever put on the floor.
And now, at 12-0, they’re proving it on one of the biggest stages in grassroots basketball.
