TSI Select 16U Boys are making noise on the Adidas Gold Circuit, and right now the kids from Southern Indiana are sitting exactly where everybody wants to be — tied for first place in the Gold East standings at 4-0 after the opening circuit stop in Detroit, Michigan. Playing under the IBC Team Southern Indiana banner, this group is proving very quickly that they belong with anybody in the country.

This past weekend Select entered the Adidas Open Event in Mishawaka, Indiana. While the event does not count toward Gold Circuit standings, it absolutely became another huge measuring stick for the program. What made the weekend even more impressive was the fact TSI played without leading scorer Gilpin and versatile guard Braxton Riley.
Most teams would have folded. TSI went 3-1 against elite competition from all over the country.
After trailing by double digits against Elite Elevation from Denver, Colorado, Select stormed back for a 68-59 win behind one of the best performances of the spring by Noble. The dynamic Floyd Central point guard exploded for 25 points and 9 assists while controlling the tempo from start to finish. Boswell added 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, Hobbs scored 11, and Nussbaum chipped in 9 more.

In game two, Select completely overwhelmed Illinois Flight in a 67-32 blowout. Noble again led the attack with 20 points and 7 assists. Boswell and Hobbs each scored 12 points, while Ethan Larrimore controlled the glass with 8 rebounds.

The lone loss of the weekend came in an absolute shootout against TRU Balance out of Toronto, Canada. The game swung back and forth several times before the Canadian squad made the final push late to win 88-78. Boswell was sensational with 29 points, Hobbs added 17, and Noble nearly posted another triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Nussbaum continued his strong weekend with 11 points.
TSI closed the event with another statement win, knocking off Indiana Elite Team Tradition 69-61 in a heavyweight battle. Boswell led the way with 21 points, Noble stuffed the stat sheet again with 11 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds, while Nussbaum added 10 points. Hudson Smith gave the team huge minutes inside with 9 points and 7 rebounds.
Out of 39 Adidas teams at the event, TSI had two players recognized by Scopescouting.com as top performers.
Boswell averaged 21 points per game, which ranked 2nd overall in the entire 16U division in scoring. Noble averaged 17 points per game, ranking 5th in scoring. Even crazier, Noble averaged 9 assists per game, leading the entire event by a mile. Those are video game numbers at this level of basketball, and the comparisons are already starting to fly around Southern Indiana. Watching Noble push tempo, rebound, deliver passes nobody else sees, and completely control games has people throwing out a familiar name — Jason Kidd.
The scary part for the rest of the Gold Circuit?
This group still feels like they are just getting started and have an eye on moving up to the 3SSB for the finals in July.

Next up. Austin, Texas Circuit Stop!
