TSI Player Spotlight: Caiden Boswell of Scottsburg - Indiana High School Basketball State Tournament Edition

The bright lights of the Indiana High School Basketball State Tournament have a way of creating unforgettable moments—and on this night at the world-famous Seymour High School gym, Caiden Boswell made sure his name was part of the story.

Scottsburg entered this year’s tournament with something a little different on their plate. The Warriors, who captured the 3A State Championship in 2024, were bumped up to the 4A Seymour Sectional because of the IHSAA’s success factor. That meant bigger competition and a tougher road. And in the opening round, Scottsburg drew one of the toughest possible matchups: the New Albany Bulldogs, the sectional favorite led by 6’5” sophomore standout and former TSI star Noah Washington.

But if the Bulldogs thought Scottsburg would go quietly, Caiden Boswell had other plans.

The 6’5” sophomore wing put on a performance that felt like a true state tournament coming-out party. Boswell did a little bit of everything to keep the Warriors in striking distance, finishing with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in an electric all-around effort.

Boswell was locked in offensively from the jump. He knocked down shots from all over the floor—slashing to the rim, pulling up in the mid-range, and confidently burying deep three-point shots that brought the crowd to life. Every time Scottsburg needed a spark, Boswell seemed ready to deliver.

And it wasn’t just the scoring.

Boswell crashed the glass like a veteran, pulling down nine rebounds while battling inside against New Albany’s size. He also created opportunities for teammates with four assists, showing the all-around versatility that makes him such a dangerous matchup on the wing.

Those who watched Boswell last summer with TSI know this isn’t a surprise. When the stakes rise, Boswell has a knack for elevating his game, and the state tournament stage proved to be no exception.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, New Albany was able to pull away late, securing a hard-fought 80–64 victory and advancing to face Bedford North Lawrence in the semifinal round.

Even in defeat, Boswell’s performance was one of the standout individual efforts of the night.

Scottsburg wraps up the season with a 13–11 record, but the future looks bright. This Warrior squad is still young, and with the team expected to move back to 3A next season, there’s plenty of optimism building in Scottsburg.

As for Boswell, the Seymour Sectional might have been a coming-out party for some fans—but those around the TSI program already know what he’s capable of.

And if this performance was any indication, the basketball world better keep an eye on him this spring and summer on the Adidas 3SGB circuit with TSI.

Because Caiden Boswell is just getting started. 🔥🏀
