TSI Player Spotlight: Hudson Jones of Crothersville

Crothersville fans might want to get used to the name Hudson Jones—because he’s just getting started. The 7th grader continued his electric middle school season Tuesday night at Henryville, and once again proved that age is just a number when talent meets confidence.

Jones, playing up on the 8th grade Tigers squad, is already averaging over 20 points per game, and in a massive SAC Middle School Conference showdown, he took things to another level. With the Tigers needing a spark on the road at the Hornets Nest, Jones flipped the switch and led a late-game comeback, lifting Crothersville to a thrilling 51–49 win that put the Tigers firmly in control of the conference race.

The stat line?Try 33 points and 7 rebounds.

Jones was simply unguardable—pulling up from Steph Curry range, attacking the rim with SGA-like confidence, and showing a fearless mentality well beyond his years. Every time Crothersville needed a bucket, the ball found its way into Jones’ hands—and more often than not, the net followed.

What makes this even more impressive? He’s doing all of this as a 7th grader competing against older players. And the scary part for opposing teams? Jones still has one more year of middle school to continue tormenting defenses before making the jump to the high school level.

When that time comes, don’t be surprised if Hudson Jones is an immediate impact player for Coach Bryant Layman and the Crothersville Tigers. The scoring ability, confidence, and competitive fire are already there—and the future is bright in Tiger orange.

Hudson Jones isn’t just having a big season—he’s making a statement. 🏀🔥
