TSI Player Spotlight: Lucas Hobbs of South Central

When the lights were brightest and the rivalry was heating up, Lucas Hobbs was ready to put on a show 🔥

The 6’0” dynamic combo guard from South Central went head-to-head Wednesday night with former TSI standout Nolin Pearce of Lanesville, and the two sophomores absolutely went to war. Buckets. Hustle. Big plays. The crowd got everything — and in the end, Hobbs and the Rebels came out on top with an 82–75 win.

Hobbs was in full attack mode all night, pouring in 27 points and scoring in just about every way you can imagine. Pull-up jumpers. Strong takes to the rim. Fast-break finishes. When South Central needed a big play, Hobbs was there making it happen.

What makes it even more impressive? South Central is one of the youngest teams in the conference — but you’d never know it by the way they compete. Behind Hobbs’ leadership and fearless style of play, the Rebels are off to a perfect 2–0 start in the SAC, sitting tied for first place with Crothersville.

Lucas Hobbs isn’t just filling up the stat sheet — he’s setting the tone. He plays fast, fearless, and with a swagger that lifts everyone around him. As South Central keeps rolling, don’t be surprised if Hobbs’ name keeps popping up in big moments all season long.

TSI is watching — and Lucas Hobbs is just getting started. 💪🏀
