TSI Player Spotlight: Reese Cox of Scottsburg

Some players light up the scoreboard… and some players light up the entire game. Reese Cox is the second kind ⭐

On Monday night, Reese put together one of the most impressive all-around performances you’ll see all season in Scottsburg’s big win over Christian Academy. She came this close to a rare triple-double, finishing with:

10 points,10 rebounds, 9 assists, & 6 steals

That stat line tells the story — Reese doesn’t just play the game, she controls it.

Reese is one of those special point guards who makes everyone around her better. She pushes the tempo, finds open teammates, and always makes the smart play. While she may not always lead the team in scoring, she’s almost always leading in effort, impact, and winning plays.

On the defensive end, she’s a nightmare for opposing guards. Reese is typically the best defender on the floor, using her quickness, instincts, and toughness to create turnovers and turn defense into easy offense for Scottsburg. Those 6 steals weren’t luck — they were the result of relentless pressure and high basketball IQ.

What makes Reese even more impressive is her unselfishness. She cares more about making the right play than getting her own shot, and that’s exactly what you want in a true point guard. Coaches love players like Reese because she makes the whole team run smoother.

With her leadership, defense, and ability to run a team, Reese Cox has an extremely bright future ahead as a floor general. If you love winning basketball, you love watching Reese Cox play. 💙🏀
