TSI Prime 2031 Boys — A Championship Season

When you look at the 2031 Prime team, you quickly realize just how special this group really is. Coach Bryant Layman has been building the foundation for gretness with this group for several years now.
The TSI Prime 2031 Boys put together one heck of a spring and summer, finishing the season as World Champions at the Reebok Series in St. Louis, Missouri.
Prime finished with an incredible 45-6 record, winning more games than any other TSI team this season. Their 88.2% winning percentage was also the second-highest in the entire program.
And they didn't just win games. They won championships.
Prime brought home eight tournament championships during the season. Coach Layman, Coach White, and Coach Jones had this group playing like a winning machine, and they represented Southern Indiana extremely well everywhere they went.
This group is talented and can beat you in different ways.
Hudson Jones of Crothersville led the team in scoring this summer and established himself as one of the most dynamic players on the roster. Hud is an extremely physical guard who can finish at the rim and has a nice mid-range game. But what really makes this walking bucket so dangerous is his unlimited range from three. He has absolutely no conscience when it comes to letting it fly. That kind of long-range threat stretches a defense and opens up driving lanes for everyone around him.
Kole White of Austin was the engine at point guard. This dynamic playmaker led Prime in both assists and steals. It's nearly impossible to keep Kole from getting downhill, and once he gets into the paint, he can score or create opportunities for his teammates. He's extremely unselfish and is also a very underrated defender.
Mason Harvey of Crothersville gave Prime a big, strong presence inside and led the team in rebounding. Mason has the ability to stretch the floor with his outside shot, but he's at his best when he's attacking the paint, using his size and strength around the basket.
Braxton Cox of Scottsburg was another big who made his presence felt on the glass, but he also brought something that made Prime especially difficult to defend, his long range shooting. Braxton led the team in three-point percentage and proved throughout the season that he can really shoot the basketball.
Then there's Kyson Baker, the jack of all trades. Kyson can do a little bit of everything, and he does it efficiently. He actually led the team in field-goal percentage, consistently making the most of his opportunities and giving the team exactly what it needed.
It Took the Entire Team
The success of this group went well beyond the stat leaders.
Rykar Alday of Silver Creek, Byron Hough of Scottsburg, Isaac Cole-Fox of Scottsburg, Bryson Layman of Crothersville, Cruz Sawyer of Crothersville, and Cam Senn of Seymour all played important roles in helping Prime put together such an outstanding season.
That's one of the things that made this team special. Different players stepped up at different times, and everyone contributed to the success of the group.
A 45-6 record. Eight tournament championships. Reebok World Champions.
That's a spring and summer these players, coaches, and families won't soon forget.
More importantly, this group showed that basketball players from our part of the state can compete—and win—at a very high level.
TSI Prime represented Southern Indiana the right way all spring and summer, and we couldn't be more proud of what they accomplished.
And the exciting part?
This group has the ability to do some very special things in the years ahead.
